🎗️ More Than Research: TETRIS meets Amazona Stockholm and the People behind Patient Support

On 7 October, ahead of our 3rd General Assembly in Stockholm, TETRIS partners and patient representatives visited Bröstcancerföreningen Amazona Stockholm Amazona Stockholm, Sweden’s largest breast cancer patient association. @brostcancerforeningen_amazona

💗 An inspiring afternoon of listening, sharing experiences and discovering how Amazona supports people affected by breast cancer, guided by a powerful promise: “No one should be alone with their breast cancer.”

From peer support to active participation in European research projects, Amazona reminded us why bringing patients’ voices closer to research and researchers truly matters.

A heartfelt thank you to the Amazona team for their warm welcome, openness and dedication!

🎗️ Breast Cancer Screening in Europe: What Do the Latest Eurostat Data Tell Us?

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, new figures published by Eurostat highlight significant differences in breast cancer screening rates across European countries. @eu_eurostat

📊 In 2024, the highest percentages of women aged 50–69 who had undergone a mammogram within the previous two years were recorded in:
🇩🇰 Denmark – 82.1%
🇸🇪 Sweden – 82.0%
🇫🇮 Finland – 81.6%

At the other end of the spectrum:
🇭🇺 Hungary – 27.2%
🇨🇾 Cyprus – 29.2%
🇵🇱 Poland – 33.8%

💡 What do these figures tell us?
They highlight substantial differences in screening participation across Europe and reinforce the importance of promoting awareness, improving access to screening services and addressing inequalities in breast cancer care.

At TETRIS, our research focuses on another essential aspect of the breast cancer journey: improving the prediction of long-term side effects after radiotherapy to support more personalised follow-up care.

From early detection to long-term follow-up, every stage matters in improving outcomes and quality of life for people affected by breast cancer.

🎀 Awareness, early detection, research and personalised care all contribute to better breast cancer care.
