Cancer Core Europe 10th Annual Meeting & Karolinska CCC Days 2026

On March 23-24 2026 at Aula Medica, Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, took place the joint meeting combining the Cancer Core Europe Annual Meeting 2026 and the Karolinska CCC Day 2026.

Cancer Core Europe (CCE) is a collaborative and forward-thinking consortium comprising seven leading cancer centers and research institutions: the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre (Cambridge, United Kingdom), the German Cancer Research Center with the National Center for Tumor Diseases (Heidelberg, Germany), the Gustave Roussy Cancer Campus Grand Paris (Villejuif, France), the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (Milan, Italy), the Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden), the Netherlands Cancer Institute (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), and the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (Barcelona, Spain). Together, they are dedicated to advancing cancer research and translating scientific breakthroughs into clinical practice across Europe. 

CCE’s primary mission is to foster innovation by accelerating the translation of cutting-edge scientific discoveries into real-world patient benefit, enhancing collaboration, and training the next generation of cancer researchers through educational initiatives for preclinical, translational, and clinical professionals. By uniting the expertise and resources of its member institutions, CCE strives to improve patient outcomes, drive progress in cancer prevention and treatment, and contribute to advance cancer research and therapy in Europe. The Karolinska Comprehensive Cancer Center (Karolinska CCC) offers customized cancer care with a multi-disciplinary, innovative, and science-based approach. A patient-focused healthcare is provided with respect for and responsiveness to the individual’s specific needs, expectations, and values. These are carefully weighed in clinical decisions, and each patient is involved already from the beginning. In those two-day event were featured cutting-edge presentations on cancer prevention, treatment, diagnostics, and research from leading scientists.

For TETRIS, Eva Onjukka delivered an overview presentation of the TETRIS project, with a focus on the consortium, the importance of personalised follow-up, and how the TETRIS work packages fulfill this aim. She also introduced the large retrospective cohort which will be used in the development of the software tool for patient-specific risk scores, as well as an the rich prospective cohort which will be used for the digital twin prototype.
