Benedetta will present:
“Normal tissue genetically-adjusted radiation dose (NT_GARD) for causal inference models of late toxicity after breast cancer radiotherapy”, Abstract 4057
The presentation will explore the integration of the genetic susceptibility to the delivered physical dose to the breast to investigate the dose-effect relationship for side-effects after breast cancer radiotherapy when individual genetic radiosensitivity is included.

Dans des projets collaboratifs comme TETRIS, le développement d’outils innovants, tels que les modèles prédictifs et les jumeaux numériques, nécessite de traduire des informations complexes afin de mieux accompagner les patients dans leur parcours de soins.
Une communication claire, standardisée et adaptée aux différents usages contribue ainsi à renforcer la confiance, à faciliter l’intégration des innovations dans la pratique clinique et à maximiser leur impact sur les résultats pour les patients.

Terminology is essential to ensure the quality, reproducibility, and reliability of scientific results.
The use of a shared language among clinicians, researchers, and developers, together with communication tailored to patients, represents a key challenge in ensuring a consistent interpretation of data derived from imaging, dosimetry, and biological analyses.
In collaborative projects such as TETRIS, the development of innovative tools, including predictive models and digital twins, requires the translation of complex information in order to better support patients throughout their care pathway.
That is why a clear, standardised, and audience-appropriate communication helps strengthen trust, facilitate the integration of innovations into clinical practice, and maximise their impact on patient outcomes.

För att patienten ska känna sig delaktig i beslut om sin behandling behöver individen få en så bra och fullständig beskrivning av olika behandlingars nytta och risker på ett sätt som denne kan förstå utan att misstolka. Det innebär att man behöver använda uttryck som patienten förstår och undvika facktermer, svårförståeliga ord, komplicerade begrepp och ord som kan tolkas mer negativt än vad som avses.
En tydlig och lättförståelig kommunikation hjälper patienter att känna sig informerade, trygga och delaktiga i sin vård.

For the patient to feel involved in decisions about their treatment, the individual needs to receive a good and complete description of the benefits and risks of different treatments in a way that they can understand without misunderstanding. This means using expressions that the patient understands and avoiding technical terms, difficult-to-understand words, complicated terms and words that can be interpreted more negatively than intended.
Clear and easy-to-understand communication helps patients feel informed, safe and involved in their care.
